GrooveFunnels Vs ClickFunnels: In-Depth Comparison (2021)

Clickfunnels vs GrooveFunnels

Do you want to build a sales funnel but don’t know if you should whether GrooveFunnels or Clickfunnels is the best solution for your situation?

In this review I compare Clickfunnels vs GrooveFunnels, so you can make the right decision.

So let’s jump right into it.

Part #1: GrooveFunnels Vs ClickFunnels Overview

What Is GrooveFunnels?

GrooveFunnels is a new sales funnels builder created by Russel Brunson’s friend and mentor Mike Filsaime.

Unlike Clickfunnels, GrooveFunnels is more than a sales funnel builder and uses a freemium model during the launch of its software.

Right now you can create a free lifetime account for GroovePages and GrooveSell.

Yes, you read that right. To launch its software, GrooveFunnels is giving away Clickfunnels core features for free.

If you have not created a free account I would recommend registering your FREE LIFETIME account for GroovePages and GrooveSell now because the free promotion ends after the Corona Crisis is over.

GrooveFunnels is a collection of free and paid software applications (GrooveApps) for creating sales funnels, building websites, and engaging in various marketing activities.

The suite is developed by Groove Digital, the people who also created WebinarJam, Everwebinar, Kartra and GrooveKart.

GrooveFunnels consists of apps, like the landing page builder GroovePages, the email platform GrooveMail, and the sales platform GrooveSell, among others.

To put it simply — you can run your entire business on GrooveFunnels once all the apps are available.

Although GrooveFunnels is still in beta, it shows great promise as an alternative to ClickFunnels and Kajabi (and even Kartra) due to the insane lifetime pricing.

In fact, it is more affordable and will have a lot more features than both of those platforms.

Mike-Filsaime introduces GroovePages and GrooveSell

The full list of apps included in the collection is mind-boggling, and covers pretty much all aspects of a company’s marketing efforts.

  • GroovePages
  • GrooveSell
  • GrooveAffiliate
  • GrooveMail
  • GrooveVideo
  • GrooveMember
  • GrooveDesk
  • GrooveCalendar
  • GrooveBlog
  • GrooveSurvey
  • GrooveQuiz
  • GroovePages for Shopify
  • GrooveWebinars for Live Webinars
  • GrooveWebinars for Automated Webinars

Most of the promised features and apps are not yet available, since the platform is still in its beta stage. The official launch will happen later in 2021, when the platform will be available with its core features to sell and deliver digital products and online courses with GrooveMail, GrooveVideo and GrooveMember.

GrooveFunnels Timeline

The rollout of additional apps like GrooveWebinars will extend well into next year. However, even just thinking about the concept, you cannot help but feel excited about the possibilities the platform will offer once fully operational.

What Is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels is the brainchild of Russell Brunson, one of the greatest marketers ever.

This platform aims to help entrepreneurs create a website that converts without having to pay a fortune to a designer.

Essentially, ClickFunnels was the first sales funnel builder to create fast, simple sales funnels.

The platform eventually implemented various other features, and is now perhaps the most successful software for creating sales funnels.

ClickFunnels gives you the tools to convert leads into paying customers.

Aside from the excellent landing page builder, it also offers the following:

  • Affiliate Management System
  • Webinar Hosting Platform
  • Course Hosting Platform
  • Email Marketing
  • Shopping Cart & Checkout System

However, ClickFunnels is above all a sales funnel creation software.

While it serves its main purpose remarkably well, it is not the comprehensive solution that GrooveFunnels will be the future or Kartra as I explained in my Kartra vs Clickfunnels review.

Clickfunnels is focused on Infoproducts

One of the best things about ClickFunnels is the giant community around it and the plethora of online courses and tutorials for it. They can be extremely helpful as an educational tool for people taking their first steps in online marketing.

The History of GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels

Mike Filsaime, the co-founder of GrooveFunnels, also happens to be the co-founder of another major sales funnel building software — Kartra.

He and Russell Brunson go way, way back, and there are plenty of interesting stories surrounding them. For example, did you know that Russell tricked Mike and his partner Andy into promoting ClickFunnels while the two were launching Kartra?

Or did you know that 99% of new Clickfunnel users don’t stick with the platform as I explain in this video?

Groovefunnels vs Clickfunnels vs Kartra - What is the Best Funnel Builder?

Stories like this one put the GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels rivalry in a rather interesting context that continues to this very day.

For example when I posted a comment to MY PERSONAL Facebook timeline claiming that GrooveFunnels is “more successful” than Clickfunnels I even got a reaction from Russell Brunson himself.

Which let to a very interssing reply from John Cornetta who is the president of GrooveDigital.

I have collected many such tales in my article about the history of Clickfunnels and GrooveFunnels. Make sure you check it out!

Part #2: GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels – Similarities

Since both GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels are designed to build sales funnels, there are quite a few similarities between them.

Of course, there are also significant differences in some key areas — but we will get to those a bit later. First, let’s take a look at the features that GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels share.

#1: Ease of Use

Fortunately, you don’t have to be a developer or even have any coding skills to use GrooveFunnels or ClickFunnels.

Both allow you to create and manage funnels and pages with a simple drag-and-drop interface. The process is quite simple even for beginners, so you can get started in no time.

The drag-and-drop feature both platforms offer makes the creation of funnels and pages less of a hassle, so you can focus on what matters — maximizing efficiency.

#2: A Variety of Ready-Made Funnel Templates

You don’t need to start from scratch. GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels come with a wide variety of built-in templates that you can use for your funnels and pages. The templates are also fully customizable, so you can adjust them to your branding and business needs.

Both GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels have their own marketplaces where users can share their funnel templates.

#3: Creating a Membership Area for Online Courses

If you want to set up a membership portal for your online courses or pretty much anything that requires special access, you can do it on both platforms.

GrooveFunnels is expected to launch its Teachable competitor GrooveMember app later this year — a membership CMS with plenty of features and customization options.

GrooveDigital announced that GrooveMember will be modeled after Kajabi.

It will give you the option to set different levels of access to your members’ area and engage in drip campaigns.

ClickFunnels also has a basic built-in membership area feature, which you can use to monetize your knowledge and experience through online courses.

#4: Affiliate Management Tool

Affiliate programs are a powerful way to acquire new customers.

However, in order to get the most of your affiliates, you will need a way to manage them effectively.

While you get the complete affiliate management software for free without limitations with GrooveSell, you will need to upgrade to the $297/month plan of Clickfunnels to use their Affiliate Management tool which is called BackPack.

What’s even more concerning is that ClickFunnels uses a 3rd party platform called Tipalti to manage their affiliates where GrooveFunnels used their own platform for handling all affiliates.

If you want a free built-in affiliate management system that allows you to set commissions, track affiliates, supply marketing materials, and more I highly recommend creating a free GrooveSell account.

#5: Email Marketing Platform

One of the apps in the upcoming GrooveFunnels platform will be GrooveMail — a fully functioning email marketing CRM. It will allow you to segment your leads, create email campaigns, schedule follow-ups, etc. just like you can in Kartra.

ClickFunnels, on the other hand, comes with a built-in feature called “follow-up funnels.” (which is only available on the $297/month plan).

It allows you to engage your customers with emails or SMS messages. The biggest difference is that ClickFunnels is not an Email Service Provider. You still need a external SMTP account to sent your emails.

#6: Learning Curve

While both platforms offer impressive features and are designed to be as user-friendly as possible, they are far from easy to learn. Their learning curve is quite steep, and it will certainly take you a lot of practice before you can master any of them.

However, the better you get, the more effectively you will use them — so do not be discouraged when starting out.

Both GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels excel in educating their customers.

While Clickfunnels success is built on information products like books and online courses GrooveFunnels is a technology company that hosts weekly live training in the GrooveFunnels academy that you can access as soon as you create your free GroovePages account.

Personally I love to read Russel Books like Traffic Secrets and listen to his podcast but prefer to build my funnels on Kartra and GroovePages.

#7: Sharing Your Funnels

If you want to share your sales funnels with other people, you will be able to do so Clickfunnels. GrooveFunnels instead will have a feature that allows you to import any page on the web, so you can hack it’s design.

ClickFunnels provides you with a URL that gives any other user a cloned copy of your funnel.

#8: Sales Platform/Shopping Cart

ClickFunnels comes with a built-in shopping cart feature and checkout system. You will be able to safely sell your products online without resorting to third-party software.

GrooveFunnels, on the other hand, has free GrooveSell — a fully-loaded sales and affiliate management platform that allows you to receive payments for physical and digital products, subscriptions, and services.

It also allows you to create checkout pages with high conversion rates. Eventhough GrooveSell is still in beta it works like a charm, as I have demonstrated with this case study.

GrooveSell Case Study: How To Sell Your First Product With The FREE GrooveSell Shopping Cart

#9: A/B Testing

One of the best ways to optimize your sales funnels and marketing campaigns is to implement A/B testing. ClickFunnels allows you to maximize conversions by split-testing your different funnels and seeing which version performs better.

GrooveFunnels will not support such a feature at launch, but it will be introduced a few months in.

#10: Affiliate Program

Both GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels offer excellent affiliate programs that have the potential to make you a lot of money.

With ClickFunnels, you can get a recurring commission of 20% on each referred client, as long as they remain an active customer. Click funnels does not offer any Tier 2 commissions anymore.

There are also various incentive programs that you can take advantage of — like the chance to win a car. If you refer enough people to the platform your commission level can raise up to 40%.

GrooveFunnels Affiliate Program Benefits

GrooveFunnels’ affiliate program is in the GrooveSell app I already mentioned.

There are actually two affiliate programs — one for free members, and one for paid customers.

Free members get paid a commission of 20% for tier one referrals and 5% for tier two.

Meanwhile, paid members get double — 40% for tier one and 10% for tier two. If you refer just one influencer, who recommend this plattform to 1000’s of his followers, this could theoretically pay for your mortgage.

The GrooveSell affiliate system is impressive and has the potential to earn you a lot of money.

Once you create your account at GrooveFunnels, you are automatically signed up for the affiliate program. All links, promotional tools, and marketing materials will be at your disposal which is much more convenient than signing up for Kartra’s affiliate program.

What is special about the GrooveFunnels affiliate program is the unique way it handles referrals.

Every single person you refer is tagged to your account for life by hardcoding their affiliate ID to yours.

That means it is literally impossible to lose your referrals, even if they switch devices when upgrading. With GrooveFunnels, you are guaranteed to receive your commission, no matter what.

#11: Online Communities

Both platforms have great Facebook communities that you can use for help, support, and networking. GrooveFunnels’ official Facebook group currently has over 36,000 members, while ClickFunnels’ — almost 250,000.

Both groups are extremely helpful when it comes to practical advice on building funnels and using the platforms in general.

#12: Customer Service & Support

To be honest, ClickFunnels’ support used to be quite bad. However, the situation has greatly improved over the last years, and users can benefit from fast and to-the-point customer support through live chat and email. Depending on your subscription plan, you can even get dedicated support and VIP phone assistance.

GrooveFunnels, on the other hand, has a dedicated support app — GrooveDesk. It works pretty much like Zendesk, and I found the support team responsive and extremely helpful. The ticket system is robust, and the chat offers great real-time assistance when an issue arises.

Part #3: GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels – Differences

Difference #1: Size & Scope

You are probably wondering what I mean by ”size & scope.” Well, to put it simply, ClickFunnels is a great technical tool that you can use for training and familiarizing yourself with the concept of sales funnels and effective web design. Of course, it does its job remarkably well, but it is a bit limited in what it can achieve.

GrooveFunnels is the fastest growing online marketing company in the history.

GrooveFunnels bigger than Clickfunnel in July 2020

They get thoughsands of new sign-ups every day and my prediction is that they will become the leading online marketing platform by 2022.

This extremely ambitious project covers pretty much every aspect of the industry, all in one package.

If you really want to grow your business, you need the full power of online marketing at your disposal. That is something GrooveFunnels will present you with.

Difference #2: Video Hosting

That is one of the categories in which ClickFunnels loses hard. The platform doesn’t support video hosting by itself. If you want to take advantage of this type of content, you will need to use a third-party video platform — like YouTube, for example. You will then have to embed the video in your sales funnels.

GrooveFunnels will introduce its own video hosting solution called GrooveVideo in late June 2020. Imagine having a built-in Vimeo or Wistia — that is what GrooveVideo aims to be. The software will offer many customization options and the ability to add tags and calls-to-action for each video. Additionally, GrooveVideo will allow users to perform A/B testing and provide in-depth analytics for each piece of content.

Difference #3: FunnelFlix

Here is one big advantage of ClickFunnels, which is once again possible thanks to Russell Brunson. FunnelFlix is known as “the Netflix of online marketing” and is a great collection of courses and training, gathered by the aforementioned gentleman.

ClickFunnels users gain access to FunnelFlix, which is a great source of knowledge for both novices and experienced marketers. Depending on your membership level, however, your access is limited. Only Platinum and Collective users can take full advantage of the courses FunnelFlix has to offer.

Take it from me — I have cleared some of them, and they are really well put together.

Difference #4: Calendar Feature

If you are a ClickFunnels user and you want your clients to be able to book appointments in an easy and streamlined fashion, prepare to be disappointed. The platform does not have such a tool, and integrating one is going to cost you extra cash.

GrooveFunnels will have the GrooveCalendar app, allowing you to schedule appointments and seamlessly integrate them into your sales funnels.

Difference #5: Helpdesk

As I already mentioned, GrooveFunnels will launch the GrooveDesk app in the near future. It will allow you to submit support tickets, access an in-depth knowledge base, and provide real-time assistance via chat. Unfortunately, ClickFunnels doesn’t have a helpdesk, and I don’t expect them to implement one anytime soon.

Difference #6: SEO and Blog Feature

GrooveFunnels uses a progressive JavaScript framework called Vue.js. It allows pages created with GroovePages to load extra fast, since it preloads the entire HTML structure without pinging the servers. Since site speed is one of the major SEO factors nowadays, sites built with GroovePages will be better optimized. ClickFunnels, however, uses older technology that doesn’t provide such benefits.

Another important SEO factor is fresh content, which often comes in the form of blog articles. You cannot blog with ClickFunnels, unfortunately. GrooveFunnels, on the other hand, will enjoy a fully-functional blog platform in early 2021.

When you combine faster loading times with blog functionality, it becomes obvious that GrooveFunnels will perform much better than ClickFunnels when it comes to SEO.

Part #4: GrooveFunnels Vs ClickFunnels – Drawbacks & Lacks

ClickFunnels Drawbacks

While ClickFunnels is still one of the most popular and useful tools for building sales funnels, I can’t say that it is perfect in every way.

The platform has been suffering from several drawbacks for a while now, and none of them have been addressed properly. Let’s have a look at what I consider to be ClickFunnels’ biggest flaws.

Restrictive Basic Plan

One of the biggest drawbacks to ClickFunnels is the extremely restrictive Basic plan.

It allows you to have a very limited number of funnels, pages, and visitors. On top of that, other key features, like the affiliate management tool and email automation, will not be available until you upgrade.

Lack of Video Hosting

Another problem with ClickFunnels is the fact that the platform doesn’t have the functionality to host your videos. To achieve that, you must use an outside video platform — like YouTube or Vimeo, for example. In comparison, GrooveFunnels will allow you to upload videos to the platform itself using the app GrooveVideo.

Lack of Calendar & Helpdesk Features

When it comes to noticeable drawbacks, I cannot neglect the lack of a helpdesk and calendar tools in ClickFunnels. GrooveFunnels offers both even in its most basic version, and those are features that are extremely useful.

No Blog Feature & Overall Weak SEO

Today, proper SEO is more important than ever. Well-optimized pages rank higher and receive a lot of organic traffic, which is essential for both sales and brand exposure. ClickFunnels has been neglecting that aspect of their service for a while now, while GrooveFunnels has taken the time to address it. As a result, ClickFunnels suffers a major drawback in that regard.

GrooveFunnels Drawbacks

Even though it is still in beta, GrooveFunnels operates on far superior technology than ClickFunnels. On top of that, the overall thought process surrounding the platform appears to be on a different level. The team at GrooveFunnels has thought of everything needed in a marketing platform. However, developing all those features takes a considerable amount of time, which is why the rollout of the platform will happen over an extended period of time.

Here are the things I consider potential drawbacks when it comes to GrooveFunnels.

Still in Beta

As I already mentioned, GrooveFunnels is still in its beta stage.

The official launch will be in July 2020— however, not all intended functionality will be available on release.

The roadmap extends all the way through 2020 and well into 2021, with many important features being postponed for later dates.

GrooveFunnels Development Timeline

Thankfully, the people behind GrooveFunnels pay special attention to their user base, and the roadmap is often adjusted according to the wishes of the community. For example, GrooveWebinars’ development was pushed back in favor of GrooveVideo and GrooveMember because the community asked for it.

GrooveFunnels  Community

While it tock ClickFunnels 5 years to build their community it took GrooveFunnels onlyy 5 months to build a bigger user base.

Russell Brunson has been an online marketer for many years but Mike Filsaime has been the Buzz Aldrin of online marketing who invented a concept called Butterfly Marketing.

With this type of Marketing GrooveFunnels will have more active users by the beginning of July.

Unfortunately, as a result of GrooveFunnels’ super fast progress, it’s hard to keep on track with all the new features they implement on a weekly basis.

Part #5: GrooveFunnels Vs ClickFunnels – Pricing

GrooveFunnels Cost

When it comes to pricing plans for GrooveFunnels, one can easily get lost in the different options and what they include.

So, let’s start with the Base plan, which is free. Yeah, you read that right — it’s free.

The Base plan features GroovePages Lite, GrooveSell, and GrooveAffiliate, along with all future updates for those apps. The affiliate program will yield you a 20% recurring commission for each referral.

The Silver plan comes at a price of $99 per month and will upgrade your GroovePages to the Pro version while granting you access to GrooveSell, GrooveAffiliate, GrooveMail, GrooveMember, and GrooveVideo. Referral commissions will still remain at 20%.

The Gold plan will cost you $199 per month and will include everything in the Silver package along with:

  • GrooveBlog
  • GrooveDesk
  • GrooveCalendar
  • GrooveSurvey
  • GrooveQuiz

Affiliate commissions will remain at 20% for the Gold plan.

Now, let’s move on to the real deal — the plan that will get you absolutely everything you need in order to make your business thrive. I am talking about the Platinum plan for GrooveFunnels.

GrooveFunnels Pricing Plan

The Silver and Gold plans above will become available at some point in July 2020. As of this moment, the only available pricing plan at GrooveFunnels is the lifetime Platinum option.

What Is the GrooveFunnels Platinum Plan?

The GrooveFunnels lifetime plan will save you over $12,000 every year.

For a fixed payment, you get everything included in the Gold version, with the addition of GrooveWebinars Live, GrooveWebinars Automated, (which are alternatives to WebinarJam) and GroovePages for Shopify. With the Platinum option, you will be able to unleash the full power of GrooveFunnels — and there are multiple pricing options that you can choose from.

GrooveFunnels ValueStack

Option 1 gives you a 14-day free trial, so you can explore all available apps and see what they can do for you. After that, you have to pay a total of 3 monthly payments of $497 each.

Option 2 allows you to pay over the course of six months. For each of those, you will need to dish out $288.

Option 3 is even better, giving you the possibility to spread the payments over twelve months. That would mean you have to pay $188 a month, over the course of one year. That’s a pretty good deal if you ask me.

I need to give you a fair warning, though. The lifetime Platinum option is available for a limited time, and GrooveFunnels will be shutting it down very soon. If you want to take advantage of this amazing deal, you need to do it ASAP.

If you use my affiliate link, there is a special bonus in store for you.

ClickFunnels Cost

Clickfunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels gives you a nice 14-day free trial, during which you can test out everything the platform has to offer. It’s great for checking if the available functionality is enough for you, and for deciding whether or not you want to invest in it.

Personally I would only recommend the ClickFunnels free trial as a great learning tool to get access to FunnelsFlix for 14 days, and build your business on GrooveFunnels (if you have some time) or on Kartra.

Clickfunnels is a online education and coaching company. This is revealed if you compare their 3 pricing plans.

Let’s take a look at each of them in detail.

Standard Plan

Priced at $97 per month, the Standard Plan gives you limited access to ClickFunnels’ features. You have a cap of 100 pages, 20 funnels, and a total of three custom domains.

There is also just one user account and three payment gateways. Unfortunately, some features are locked — like follow-up funnels, for example.

You will also get limited access to the FunnelFlix database I talked about earlier.

Platinum Plan

The Platinum Plan, priced at $297 per month, allows you to tap into the real strengths of ClickFunnels.

It gives you unlimited pages and funnels, a total of three user accounts, and also unlocks the follow-up funnels feature.

The domain and payment gateway limits are bumped to nine each. Additionally, you will get priority support and full access to all courses FunnelFlix has to offer.

Collective Plan

If you really want to experience the full power of ClickFunnels, you need to go with the Collective Plan.

At the price of $1,497 per month, you get unlimited funnels, pages, and follow-up funnels. The user count goes up to ten, and you can use up to 27 domains and payment gateways. T

he Collective plan also provides you with VIP phone support and access to the special training, coaching and exclusive live events.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ClickFunnels Better Than GrooveFunnels?

If it isn’t clear yet, ClickFunnels is a training and coaching plattform with a good landing page builder and some basic features to sell online courses.

While ClickFunnels is a great sales funnels builder, there is not much more it can do in terms of functionality. GrooveFunnels, on the other hand, will be a full-service online marketing platform just like Kartra.

It will do everything what ClickFunnels does but better and faster because it offers a host of additional functionalities and features that I love from Kartra.

Is GrooveFunnels Cheaper Than ClickFunnels?

The answer is: yes, definitely.

First of all, there is a free version that you can use for as long as you like.

However, we need to compare the pricing with all options unlocked — that would mean taking a look at the GrooveFunnels Platinum Plan versus the ClickFunnels Collective Plan.

GrooveFunnels’ Platinum plan is a lifetime offer. That means you pay the total sum using one of the three payment methods I mentioned above, and the platform is yours to use forever. With ClickFunnels, on the other hand, you will have to pay the $1,497 monthly fee for as long as you are using the platform. As you can see, GrooveFunnels will cost you a lot less in the long run.

How Is GrooveFunnels Better Than ClickFunnels?

GrooveFunnels is better than ClickFunnels in more ways than one.

From the pricing plans and the available features, to the overall idea behind the platform — GrooveFunnels wins in each category.

The sheer number of apps that are or will be available for GrooveFunnels makes it the preferable option if you want a powerful online marketing tool.

ClickFunnels vs GrooveFunnels: Who Wins & Why?

I have used both GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels and Kartra extensively.

And there is no doubt in my mind — GrooveFunnels will be the superior platform in the future.

It will offer everything that I like about Kartra and provide the technology businesses need in order to succeed in their online marketing efforts.

From the superb landing page tool GroovePages to the excellent GrooveSell platform — your marketing arsenal will be in full swing.

Also, we shouldn’t forget the superior affiliate program that GrooveFunnels provides.

If you have not created a free account I would recommend registering your FREE LIFETIME account for GroovePages and GrooveSell now because the free promotion ends after the Corona Crisis is over.

ClickFunnels has its own merits, of course.

It works great as an education platform, as it features a lot of useful training materials and coursesHowever, ClickFunnels has never been a technology company. That’s why their technolgy is inferior to what GrooveFunnels will offer.

If you are looking to boost your business through online marketing, I strongly urge you to purchase the lifetime Platinum version of GrooveFunnels.

Not everything will be ready right now but this will save you a lot of money down the line.

It is available for a limited time only, so you need to act fast. Make sure you use my affiliate link in order to get a sweet bonus when signing up for the platform.

If you need something that works right out of the gate, I highly recommend to give Kartra a try.

It already has everything GrooveFunnels will offer eventually.
