I know what you are thinking. After doing a fair bit of research, you’ve finally narrowed down your choices and the question is:
Which one works best for you?

At first glance, Kartra and GrooveFunnels seem quite similar, making it somewhat difficult to confidently pick one or the other.

What’s the Main Difference Between GrooveFunnels and Kartra?
Kartra has been around for a while now. The platform was launched back in 2018 by co-founders Andy Jenkins and Mike Filsaime. Their goal was to create an automated sales funnel builder that also offered one-stop-shop online marketing solutions. And they certainly didn’t fail — in the span of just a couple of years, Kartra quickly built a reputation as an industry leader (at least for insiders).
Although tools like Clickfunnels and Kajabi still dominates the space I see a lot of people making the switch from Clickfunnels to Kartra and GrooveFunnels, as I laid out in my post Kartra vs. Clickfunnels – Why it’s so easy to make the right decision.
Fast forward to 2020: enter GrooveFunnels.
One thing you may not know is that Mike Filsaime left Kartra and is the CEO of GrooveFunnels, too, together with some people who helped to develop Kartra in the first place.
This platform is the new kid on the block, having only been introduced in mid 2019.
While GrooveFunnels is still in beta, it has already proven itself a worthy contender and a viable alternative to both Kartra and ClickFunnels as I explain in this video.

What Is GrooveFunnels?
Groove Funnels is a suite of software applications to build sales funnels and websites developed by Groove Digital. The all-in one tool is designed to help people run a successful online business and allows users to build sales funnels, landing pages, and websites, and host webinars to sell their products online.
GrooveFunnels: Landing Pages and Sales Funnels
Landing Pages
GroovePages is GrooveFunnels’ state-of-the-art website, landing page, and funnel builder.
Unlike competitor platforms such as Kartra or Clickfunnels, GroovePages uses Vue.js, a progressive JavaScript framework. What that means is that most of the code is stored on the browser and does not need to send requests to an external database, resulting in a much faster page loading speed. In contrast, most other landing page builders use Bootstrap, a once-cutting-edge technology that was originally developed by Twitter but is now almost a decade old.
But there is more to Vue.js than that: it also allows you to do practically anything in your page builder that you can do with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
That means you can quickly and easily build infinitely customizable landing pages. Some of the key page building tools include:

GrooveFunnels also has its own email service provider: GrooveMail. Think of it as Clickfunnels ActiveCampagin and Actionetics platform fused into one system.
If you’d rather stick to your current email provider, that’s not a problem. The team behind GrooveFunnels is currently working to seamlessly integrate the platform with 15+ of the most popular email service providers.
However, I strongly recommend that you give GrooveMail a chance. It packs in a comprehensive email marketing CRM that allows you to build email campaigns, segment leads, schedule follow-ups, and much, much more — just like with Kartra.
GrooveMail also supports HTML emails, sequence automation, and text and voice SMS broadcasting. You can easily import leads into a campaign either individually or in bulk via a .csv file.
The email analytics is top-notch as well. You can monitor anything from open and click-through rates to user engagement and more.
GrooveWebinars
With GrooveWebinars, you can host both live and automated webinars, making it quite possibly the best WebinarJam alternative currently on the market.
What I like about GrooveWebinars is that it allows you to select a ready-to-use, auto-filled template and adjust it slightly to suit your needs. If you are feeling creative, you can customize the color scheme, edit the blocks, and add extra elements such as your company logo. However, if you are feeling lazy, all you need to do is fill in the name of the webinar host, enter the date and time, and your webinar is all set up and good to go.
The platform also allows you to track webinar views via GrooveVideo and set up tags in GrooveMail to send personalized automated follow-up emails.
Overall, I find GrooveWebinar to be much more flexible than competing software products like EverWebinar or WebinarJam.

Kartra and GrooveFunnels are both excellent platforms with many similarities. Let’s go over the main ones before we get to the final verdict.

Both Kartra and GrooveFunnels offer a one-stop-shop solution for most, if not all, of your digital marketing needs. The vast majority of businesses shouldn’t need to purchase additional services from other providers. Whether you choose Kartra or GrooveFunnels, you will find everything you are looking for — and then some.

The Kartra and GrooveFunnelspage builders are intuitive and don’t require any prior knowledge of coding or web development. However, you really don’t need to read a detailed pricing review to notice the glaring difference between the pricing plans.
If all we do is look at the numbers, the choice between Kartra and GrooveFunnels does seem like a no-brainer.
Why pay more for pretty much the same service and software package?
If that’s what you were thinking, in a way, you’d be right. However, I believe that there are cases where Kartra may still be a better fit for your business. But more on that — later.
Clickfunnels vs. Kartra & GrooveFunnels
Yes, you read that right. It’s not a typo.
So far, we’ve been focusing exclusively on Kartra and GrooveFunnels. However, I thought I should also throw in a super-short review of Clickfunnels before we go any further.
They are the most well-known brand out there and I don’t want you getting all mixed up and confusing the three platforms — which happens surprisingly often.
I guess the fact that GrooveFunnels and Clickfunnels sound quite alike is partly to blame for that.
But what are these “funnels” all about, anyway?
“Sales funnel” is a term coined by Russel Brunson, the mastermind behind Clickfunnels’ brilliant marketing. Brunson used the term to describe the multi-step process that prospects go through before becoming paying customers. Also known as the buyer’s journey, that process can be broken down roughly into three stages: awareness, consideration, and decision.
What Is the Difference Between Kartra & GrooveFunnels vs. Clickfunnels?
Here’s the short answer.
Kartra is an all-in-one platform that is meant to help you run your whole business. In contrast, Clickfunnels is a software that you can use to build sales funnels. In that sense, Clickfunnels is not a one-stop-shop.
However, that doesn’t mean Clickfunnels is all bad. With it, you can build landing pages and opt-in pages, create a simple membership website, and collect and process payments via Stripe and PayPal — just like you can do with Kartra & GrooveFunnels.
Clickfunnels was, and in some ways still is, a market leader in the sector thanks to its brilliant marketing. It also was the very first platform that made it possible for users with limited tech skills to single-handedly build complete sales funnels using ready-to-use, customizable templates.

Should I Use Kartra, GrooveFunnels or Clickfunnels?
You probably won’t be surprised to hear me say that it all depends on your business, your products and services, and your broader marketing strategy.
If you are a fan of Russell Brunson and want to be part of their community, Clickfunnels in combination with solid email marketing software like ActiveCampaign or Aweber could be all you need. However, if you are selling content, online courses, or other types of information products, I would recommend that you choose either Kartra or GrooveFunnels.
How Is Kartra Better Than GrooveFunnels?
Personally, I am currently using Kartra to run my business. It is an established platform with a proven track record that packs in all the tools you need to run a business online, including:

Who Is Kartra For?
I would recommend Kartra to people looking to start an online business right now, as well as anyone who has an existing business and needs an all-in-one marketing platform that will waste none of their time and can help them hit the ground running.
With Kartra, you can have your marketing strategy all set up in a matter of days and even hours — and without any tech issues and glitches.
This is not something you can get with GrooveFunnels at this stage. While it is a promising new software and a potential game changer in the industry, it is still in beta. Not all of its functionalities are fully developed yet, and it will be a while before it can offer a truly comprehensive online marketing solution.
I also recommend Kartra to anyone who is already familiar with this software or older platforms such as Clickfunnels and doesn’t want or need to switch to GrooveFunnels.
If your current set-up is working for you, don’t try to fix it (useless you really want to use all the benefits of an ALL-In-One-Plattform for your complete business).
Even if you don’t make the switch right now, I highly recommend to take advantage of GrooveFunnels, because they will soon dominate the market and you don’t have to pay $297/month ever again.
How Is GrooveFunnels Better Than Kartra?
Okay, here’s the deal. Mike Filsaime, the founder and CEO of GrooveFunnels, was one of the people who built Kartra. He was the technology and software wiz while Andy was an amazing marketer. That’s why there were so successful as a team.
That should tell you all you need to know about GrooveFunnels. While Mike is an amazing marketer as well, he first and foremost a software guy.
That why one of the main mantras of GrooveFunnels is that they are a technology company that helps you with their marketing not a marketing company that tries to sell you marketing and education with a software.
But if you still need a hint, here it goes:
GrooveFunnels is set to become Kartra 2.0 in just about a year or two because they are growing exponentially and are right on track to get to more than 1 million users in 2021 (with about 10-15% of who upgraded to the full version.)
All of the money currently goes right back into the development of the software.
While companies like Clickfunnels talk about who lean their development team is, GrooveFunnels just opened a new off-shore center to hire more developers.
Mike Filsaime is not shy to compare GrooveFunnels to Amazon who had a similar strategy and did not pay out their shareholers for more than 5 years.
As I mentioned earlier, GroovePages is faster and more versatile than Karta’s page builder due to its reliance on cutting-edge Vue.js technology. (all while GrooveFunnels licences their OLD page-builder framework to Kartra).
And unlike the software from Genesis Digital where you have to buy WebinarJam and Everwebinar separately, GrooveFunnels comes with a built-in webinar hosting app.
And you bet that Mike Filsaime knows how to make it better because he came up with the idea of JamWebinar in the first place.
It’s always easier to build a better platform if you done something already.
On top of that there is GrooveKart, which is an excellent Shopify alternative.
Butterfly marketing and which incentivises all of your customers to become raving fans of your affiliate program.
Personally I don’t know too much about selling physical products but the GrooveFunnels Facebook Group is full of success stories as well.
And that’s now even it. GrooveFunnels will be the ONLY platform that will users take advantage of a NEW way to make your company go viral.
Not to mention that GrooveFunnels is also better with SEO than Kartra, (which I why I use Kartra only at the backend of the blog).
Who Is GrooveFunnels For?
Overall, GrooveFunnels is an excellent long-term investment, something that I would recommend even to hard-core Kartra users. Of course it’s still in beta and has a couple of bugs that need fixing, but it is an amazing deal.
For roughly a 1-year payment of Kartra basic plan you can get lifetime access and enjoy all the functionalities that also come with Kartra’s Gold Plan which even for one year would cost three times as much.
Most people underestimate how long it takes to build a successful online business and the monthly fees for all the software tools you need really add up.
While Kartra saves you already 80% of what you have to pay to patch together solutions like ActiveCampaign, Leadpages, Teachable and Zendesk, with GrooveFunnels you would have to wait for all of them to be released, though.
The final verdict?
I would recommend GrooveFunnels to everyone no matter the stage of your business.
Even if you have to wait a year or two to develop all of their 16 different apps, the life-time offer will pay of in the years to come.
If you are just starting out and don’t have a big budget GrooveFunnels already as everything that you need to build your online business.
Even if you have to find a workaround for the occasional glitch here and there or have to wait for a feature to be developed it’s 100% functional as I proved with various case studies already.

Conclusion for Our GrooveFunnels vs. Kartra Review
So, what is my final verdict? Which one is better — Kartra or GrooveFunnels?
As I said earlier, there is no definitive answer.
It all depends on a myriad of factors, including your goals and business model, the types of products and services you are selling, your knowledge of marketing software, and what budget you are working with.
If you are looking for an established platform with no glitches and are ready to scale your business then go with Kartra.
It’s what I use for my current webinar funnel and will save you a lot of money compared to messing around (and paying for) email platforms like GetResponse or Mailchimp with landing page builders like Clickfunnels, Instapage and Leadpages with external membership platforms like Teachable.
Kartra is predictable, fully developed, super easy to use and has been around long enough to build an impressive track record.
The software will save you a lot of money. (And I’m not even mentioning that you will avoid all the integration nightmares that everyone else has to deal with when trying to integrate different their landing page builder, with email & payment gateways and memberships.)
However, if you’d rather prefer to save EVEN more money that also packs in a lot of extra features such as automated and live webinars and a more agile page builder, you might want to go with GrooveFunnels.
Sure, it will probably take some getting used to and feeling your way around.
However, as I said before even at the beta stage, GrooveFunnels has everything you need to build your online business.
I have no doubt that GrooveFunnels will become the market lead in just one or two years.
So, you might want to jump on the bandwagon with GrooveFunnels now while the amazing life-time deal is still around or start with Kartra if don’t want to wait another year and are ready to scale your business right now.
